Senior/Principal Transport Planner

£45,000 - £60,000

An independent transport planning consultancy, with offices in Swansea and Cardiff, is seeking an experienced Principal or Senior Transport Planner to join their team.

With a strong reputation for professional, high-quality service, the team brings extensive local knowledge and maintains strong working relationships with local authorities. Clients value their approachable, friendly service and collaborative approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and draft high-quality technical reports
• Conduct technical research and manage data collection
• Use of transport modelling and analysis software, including TRICS, Junctions 9/10, and LINSIG
• Undertake highway capacity modelling and assess development impacts
• Design preliminary site access, junctions, and on-site layouts
• Carry out Active Travel assessments
• Mentor and support junior colleagues
• Assist with business development activities

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a transport planning role
• Strong technical and report-writing skills
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Competency with relevant software packages
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

The position is primarily based in the Swansea office, with flexible working from home options available.
